STORY SUBMISSION & PUBLICATION AGREEMENT
Effective Date: October 9, 2026
Company: WTF Chronicles LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company
Contact: stories@wtfchronicles.com
1. Tell Us Your WTF
We believe that some of life's best stories begin with the words, "You're not going to believe what happened."
We welcome funny, shocking, embarrassing, unexpected, and unforgettable experiences.
We also understand that sharing a personal story requires trust.
This Agreement explains your rights and responsibilities when submitting a story and the additional permissions required before we share it publicly.
2. Submission Is Not Publication Consent
By submitting your story, you authorize WTF Chronicles LLC to receive, store, privately review, and evaluate the materials you provide.
You also authorize us to contact you about your submission.
Submission alone does not authorize us to publish, distribute, or commercially exploit your story.
We will obtain your separate affirmative permission before publication.
3. You Keep Ownership
You retain copyright ownership of your original submitted materials to the extent you own those rights.
You are not selling or transferring ownership of your story, photographs, videos, or recordings simply by submitting them.
Any publication rights granted to WTF Chronicles are licenses rather than transfers of ownership.
4. Publication License
If you separately authorize publication, you grant WTF Chronicles LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, edit, adapt, narrate, display, perform, distribute, and promote the specifically approved material within the scope of your recorded consent.
Authorized uses may include websites, social media, podcasts, digital video, newsletters, promotional materials, and other media expressly covered by your permission.
Authorized content may appear alongside advertising, sponsorships, or other commercial activity.
Uses beyond the agreed scope require additional permission.
5. Creative Editing and Storytelling
We may propose edits to improve clarity, pacing, humor, storytelling, or privacy.
Depending on the permissions granted, these may include:
Shortening or reorganizing the story.
Correcting grammar and improving readability.
Using a narrator or performer.
Creating illustrated, animated, or dramatized versions.
Changing names and nonessential identifying details.
Creating promotional excerpts from an approved publication.
We will not knowingly change the essential facts in a way that materially misrepresents the contributor or falsely portrays identifiable individuals.
Materially different adaptations or uses outside the original authorization require further consent.
6. Your Identity, Your Choice
You may request anonymous publication, first-name-only attribution, or another agreed attribution format.
If you request anonymity, we will not intentionally disclose your private contact information or real name in the published material.
We may remove or modify identifying details to reduce recognition risks.
However, we cannot guarantee that others will be unable to recognize the events or people described.
7. Voice, Image, and Video Rights
Permission to publish a written or narrated story does not automatically include permission to publish your actual voice, photograph, video, or identifiable likeness.
We will obtain separate affirmative authorization before using these elements publicly.
The same principle applies to identifiable third parties whose legal rights may be affected.
8. Third-Party Rights and Accuracy
By submitting content, you represent that, to the best of your knowledge:
You have the right to submit the materials.
You have not knowingly fabricated damaging factual allegations about identifiable people.
You have identified significant privacy or consent concerns.
You have not knowingly included unlawfully obtained materials.
You understand that permission to tell your own story does not automatically grant rights belonging to other people.
We may request verification, supporting permissions, or editorial changes before publication.
We reserve the right to reject submissions that present unacceptable legal, safety, or privacy risks.
9. Compensation
Submitting a story does not create an entitlement to payment, royalties, revenue sharing, or other compensation.
Unless separately agreed in writing, any authorized publication license is royalty-free.
A separate agreement may be required for appearances, interviews, special productions, or other compensated arrangements.
10. Withdrawal and Removal
You may withdraw publication permission before initial release by contacting stories@wtfchronicles.com.
Once your withdrawal is received and verified, we will not proceed with an unpublished release.
For previously published material, you may request removal or withdrawal of future uses.
We will make reasonable efforts to remove material from channels we control and discontinue new uses within a reasonable period, subject to applicable law and legitimate obligations.
We cannot guarantee deletion of previously distributed copies, third-party reposts, caches, downloads, or completed distributions.
Any ongoing licensing or removal questions will be evaluated according to the consent granted and applicable law.
11. Our Right to Decline Publication
WTF Chronicles LLC may decline to publish any submission.
We are not required to publish, promote, produce, or otherwise use any submitted material.
We may also remove previously published material when appropriate.
12. Confidentiality and Security
We will handle unpublished submissions and private contributor information using reasonable safeguards.
Authorized personnel and necessary service providers may access submitted information for legitimate operational purposes.
We will not intentionally disclose confidential contributor information publicly without permission, except where legally required or necessary to address serious safety or legal concerns.
No digital system can guarantee absolute security.
13. Agreement Records
We may maintain records of the permissions you grant, including the agreement version, date, submission identification, anonymity preference, authorized media formats, and subsequent changes.
These records help us respect your choices and document the scope of permitted uses.
14. Governing Law
This Agreement is intended to be governed by Wyoming law, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Any additional dispute resolution or venue provisions should be approved by legal counsel.
